Protecting the Environment and Biodiversity

The Treviso-Ostiglia Greenway crosses a territory rich in landscapes, rivers, agricultural areas, parks and natural environments that represent a valuable heritage to be discovered and respected.

A list of natural points of interest can be found in the What to See section of our website.

Every visitor can contribute to their protection through small everyday actions. Adopting responsible behaviour means reducing your environmental impact and helping safeguard the environment. Many of these recommendations are also available in the section Guidelines for responsible behaviour while cycling, visiting natural sites and cultural places.

  • Save water by using this resource carefully and, whenever possible, preferring public drinking fountains along the route.
  • Reduce energy consumption by avoiding unnecessary waste during your stay and choosing accommodation that adopts sustainable practices.
  • Dispose of waste correctly by following local waste separation guidelines. In areas where bins are not available, please carry your waste with you until the nearest collection point.
  • Choose sustainable mobility by reaching the Greenway by train, bicycle or other low-impact transport options, and by favouring slow travel along the route.
Respect Nature

In parks, natural areas and along waterways, stay on marked paths, do not pick wild flowers or plants, do not disturb wildlife, and do not introduce or spread invasive plant or animal species.

Every environment has a delicate balance: respecting biodiversity means contributing to the conservation of the territory for future generations.

Acting Together on Climate Change

Take a look at the Sustainable Initiatives section. The territories crossed by the Treviso-Ostiglia Greenway promote initiatives dedicated to environmental protection and climate change adaptation, such as reforestation projects, greening actions and improvements in ecological connectivity.

You can also play your part by choosing sustainable travel options and, if you wish, supporting CO₂ offsetting initiatives.
